How to Ask for Reviews

Getting reviews is essential part of any good business plan. The reviews help lend legitimacy to your business by showcasing the real-life interactions with your business of other customers. Getting feedback from previous customers provides confidence to future customers in the product or service provided.

It can be really tough to get new customers. Businesses often spend a lot of money on advertising and marketing to build their brand. It typically cost five times the amount of money to get a new customer versus keeping an existing customer happy and satisfied. What if that happy customer helped you get new customers? Word of mouth has been one of the most effective and cheapest ways to get new customers. Great reviews are essentially word-of-mouth advertising for the current business model.

But how do you get great reviews? With Real Time Reviews, we offer several opportunities to make it easier to get those great reviews across multiple platforms. Our dashboard, the app, the widget and social media links are all wonderful ways to gather and showcase feedback. One of the most successful ways to get a customer to complete the review is to simply ask for the review. However, you don’t want to seem pushy. It needs to be friendly, natural and at the right time.

Have the technicians or staff ask at the time of the service while still on the job.

Using the Real Time Reviews app (available for both Apple and Android), will allow technicians to request reviews in the field. The employee can let the customer know that they will be sending the review request.

“We value your feedback. When we have completed the job to your satisfaction, we will be sending you a review request. Please take a moment to fill out the review. It really helps potential customers feel confident in our service.”

Have your staff ask for the review from the office.

Using the dashboard, front office and support staff can send out review requests individually or with a bulk request through the campaigns section. A good idea would be for the staff to let the customer know at the beginning of service with a follow up reminder.

“At the end of the service we will be sending you a request for a review. Please take a moment to fill out the review. Your valuable feedback helps us improve and grow our business.”

Real Time Reviews review requests will send a follow up reminder a day later. You can adjust the frequency of reminders within the review request template.

Asking for the review prior to sending the review request will increase the likelihood that the customer will fill it out. Getting the feedback of a satisfied customer is priceless to the success of your business.
